IMDS is a common global platform, through which the information of the materials are shared and stored in automotive industry supply chain.
- IMDS facilitates the compliance of the national and international directives, regulations, laws and norms in order to protect the human health and environment
- As a part of automotive quality systems IMDS now is a mandatory requirement of PPAP
Vehicle manufacturers, in liaison with material and equipment manufacturers, to limit the use of hazardous substances in vehicles and to reduce them as far as possible from the conception of the vehicle onwards, so as in particular to prevent their release into the environment, make recycling easier, and avoid the need to dispose of hazardous waste
